DISROBING DATA
PHOTOGRAPHY and the drive to see DESIGN
1975 - 2009
Disrobing Data is a body of photographic works produced while using the camera in experimental ways for observing and recording a reality. For humans, reality is always modulated by the cloak of human perceptions and emotions enveloping it. Data can be used to reveal a truth but can also be used to design it. What shapes the natures of human existence? Is it the DATA humans create or the human emotional forces designing the DATA?

EMBEDDED
1999 - 2011
Embedded is a body of work comprised of 5 photographic series that were produced while investigating human violence. All photographs are images of everyday objects composed for the camera. These images offer pictorial spaces conducive to the contemplation of the need for violence.
There is a theory that Neanderthals became extinct and Homo Sapiens survived not because Homo Sapiens were smarter, but because they were more violent. Are Homo Sapiens doomed to their violent natures by an embedded genetic code? There seems to be two major categories of people in the world: those with a need to hurt and those without a need to hurt. Sometimes these two people can exist within the same person.
